The world's systems are being shaken — economies, politics, technology, even what people call truth. Scripture promises that everything that can be shaken will be removed, so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Part 20 of the Your REAL ID series unpacks the identity truth that anchors every believer in an unshakable kingdom.
The Context
Hebrews 12 declares that God has promised "once more, I will shake not only the earth, but heaven as well" — and that the shaking removes what can be shaken so that what cannot be shaken remains. Philippians 3:20 then locates every believer's citizenship not in any earthly nation or system, but in heaven itself, where the King reigns. From these passages, a new Real ID truth emerges: I am a citizen of heaven — and that citizenship cannot be revoked, devalued, or shaken by any crisis on earth.
The Core Message
The teaching opens by returning to the foundation Pastor Tim Howe laid in Part 1 of this series: technology, AI, and shifting world systems are accelerating change at an unprecedented pace, and a major shaking is coming. The answer is not in any political party, economic recovery, or technological utopia — Jesus told Pilate plainly, "My kingdom is not of this world." That single sentence reframes everything. The kingdom of God is described throughout Scripture as a backwards kingdom, one entered through humility rather than achievement, through being born again rather than working harder. Colossians 3 calls believers to set their minds on the things above, put to death the patterns of the old self, and be renewed in knowledge in the image of the Creator. Matthew 7 promises that the one who hears the words of Jesus and acts on them is like a wise builder whose house stands when the storms rise — while those who hear but do not act watch their house collapse.
The second half turns deeply personal. The morning before this message, Meagan woke with a vivid vision — Jesus walking into a hospital room, standing at the right side of the bed of Pastor Tim's grandmother Marjorie, gently touching her hand and saying, "Marjorie, it's time." She saw a young, spunky Marjorie spring up and take His hand, led into the most beautiful landscape she had ever seen. Hours later, the text arrived: grandma had been placed on hospice. Marjorie put her faith in Jesus at 94 years old; she is 95 and a half now. That is the wonder of citizenship in this kingdom — it is never too late to enter, as long as there is still breath in your lungs. 1 Thessalonians 4 promises that the dead in Christ will rise first, that those who are alive will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and that believers will always be with the Lord. Revelation 21 reveals the destination — a renewed heaven and earth, no more death or mourning or crying or pain, the tree of life freely available again, and the Father dwelling face to face with His people forever.
The Application
- Set Your Mind Above: Daily lift your thoughts to the things of the kingdom — Christ seated at the right hand of God — rather than the noise, fear, and outrage that fills earthly news feeds.
- Refuse The World's Answers: Stop looking to politics, technology, or human ingenuity as the solution to a shaking world; the only unshakable answer is the kingdom of God.
- Be Born Again: Recognize that entering this kingdom requires being born of water and the Spirit, not religious effort or self-improvement.
- Build On The Rock: Hear the words of Jesus and act on them, because only the life built on doing what the Word says stands when the storms rise.
- Don't Put It Off: It is never too late to enter the kingdom while breath remains, but no one is promised tomorrow — receive the Savior today if you haven't yet.
- Encourage With Hope: Remind yourself and others that for those in Christ, death is not the end — we will meet the Lord and our loved ones again, and reign with Him forever.
