In filmmaking, nothing moves until the director calls the shots — and for the believer, the Word of God is the script we're called to live by. Your identity in Christ was never meant to be admired and shelved; it's meant to move you to action. The world is watching, so let your life put the goodness of God on display.

The Context

This message brings the Your REAL ID series to a close, with Pastor Tim Howe drawing on a simple picture from the world of film — lights, camera, action — to revisit the identity truths explored across the entire series. Just as a movie begins not with the set or the actors but with a script that tells everyone what to do, the believer's life is built on the script of God's Word. Looking back across the whole journey, the teaching lands on a final, unifying truth: we are ambassadors for Christ.

The Core Message

The phrase "lights, camera, action" turns out to be more than a clever title. Lights draw attention and make things visible; a camera captures what's happening so others can see it; and action — from a root word meaning "to do" — is the part that brings everything to life. In the same way, believers have been set apart to be the light of the world, put on display so that those around them can see what it looks like when a life is surrendered to the King. From the very beginning, the gospel has turned the world upside down and drawn its attention, because there is another King, and His name is Jesus.

But identity is meant to produce more than admiration; it's meant to produce action. The truths uncovered throughout this series — that you are a new creation, a child of God, a saint, healed, blessed, and a citizen of heaven — were never given so you could feel good and then live unchanged. They were given to shape the course of your life. Following the example of Jesus, who did exactly what the Father told Him, we prepare our minds for action, renew our thinking, and live out of who we already are in Christ rather than striving to earn what grace has already provided.

The Application

  • Renew Your Mind: Take every thought captive and refuse to let old patterns of thinking trip you up. Prepare your mind for action so your life lines up with the truth of God's Word.

  • Live From Identity: You don't act in order to earn God's acceptance — you act because you've already received it. Let everything you do flow out of who you already are in Christ.

  • Ask Daily: Begin each day by asking the Lord for opportunities to be salt and light. Stay in tune with the Holy Spirit and watch for the people He places in your path.

  • Share Your Story: Tell others what God has done in your life and invite them into His kingdom. You never know when your words might reach someone in their lowest moment.

  • Revisit The Truths: Go back through these identity messages again and again until the truths come out of you without effort. Let them sink in until they shape how you live.

  • Carry His Presence: You carry the presence of God everywhere you go. Live in a way that lets that presence touch the people around you.

Conclusion

Don't let this be the last time you sit with these truths — press play, let your identity in Christ move you to action, and step into your calling as an ambassador for the King.
