You can hear the truth about who you are in Christ a hundred times without it transforming your life. The difference isn't information — it's whether those truths sink past your mind and become part of how you actually live. Part 7 of the Your REAL ID series recaps the identity truths covered so far and explains why they matter.

The Context

In Luke 7, a notoriously sinful woman crashed a Pharisee's dinner party, washed Jesus' feet with her tears, and was told that her many sins were forgiven because she loved much. That story — combined with a common misreading of John the Baptist's words, "He must increase, I must decrease" — sets the stage for this recap episode. Part 7 pauses the series to revisit every Real ID truth covered so far and to answer one critical question: why does any of this matter?

The Core Message

Pastor Tim Howe pushes back on a popular Christian saying — "He is greater than I" — and shows from Scripture that the real picture is far more radical. John the Baptist spoke those words before the cross, and they describe his earthly ministry, not the post-resurrection identity of a born again believer. Galatians 2:20 declares, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." Colossians 3:3 adds that your life is now hidden with Christ in God. It is not "Jesus plus a little of me" — it is Christ as everything, with the old self dead, buried, and replaced. Without that foundation, believers wander through life trying to give a little more of themselves to Jesus, never realizing the old self was never meant to be remodeled, only crucified.

From there, the message recaps the nine Real ID truths the series has unpacked so far: rooted and grounded in love, rooted in Christ, complete in Christ, loved by God as His beloved, a new creation in Christ, the righteousness of God through Christ, a child of God, a saint, and God's masterpiece. These aren't boxes to be ticked once and forgotten — Scripture says the Word effectively works only in those who believe it. As the truth is meditated on, believed, and lived, it transforms the soul realm, renews the mind, and eventually flows out into a life that becomes a billboard pointing others to the Father — much like a young woman named Heather, whose passionate joy in God once caught the attention of a teenager who is now a pastor.

The Application

  • Believe The Truth: Don't just acknowledge Real ID truths intellectually — believe them deeply enough that they begin to shape how you actually think, speak, and live.
  • Reject "Jesus Plus": Stop relating to God as if you bring something to the table — Scripture says your old self has been crucified and your new life is fully hidden in Christ.
  • Meditate Daily: Return to these identity truths over and over so they become part of your inner programming, not just things you once heard in a sermon.
  • Take Thoughts Captive: Use the Word of God to tear down every lie the enemy throws at your identity, because truth — believed and lived — is what sets you free.
  • Live The Billboard: Allow your life to become a passionate, visible witness to the goodness of God so others are drawn to the Father by what they see in you.
  • Receive Christ Now: If you have never given your life fully to Jesus, today is the day to lay down your old life, receive His new life, and step into the family of God.
