Scripture says God has blessed every believer with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places — but blessings spoken don't automatically transform a life. They are received by faith and activated by obedience. Part 16 of the Your REAL ID series reveals what it means to walk as one blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

The Context

Ephesians 1:3-6 uses four different Greek words all translated "blessed" in just a handful of verses — God is worthy of praise, He has spoken good words over believers, He has bestowed every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, and He has graced them with special honor in Christ. Galatians 3:9 names the gateway: "Those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith." From these passages emerges a new Real ID truth — I am blessed — along with a clear pattern for how that blessing actually shows up in daily life.

The Core Message

Pastor Tim Howe opens with a striking modern picture. AI tools today can take a written prompt and generate a stunningly realistic video — and the question that hangs over the technology is the same one that hangs over every life: who is writing your prompts? Scripture is the only source code that leads to life, and the world is full of competing prompts that lead to ruin. From there, the teaching walks through four distinct Greek words behind the English "blessed" in Ephesians 1, then traces the biblical pattern of blessing from Genesis 1, where God's very first act after creating humanity was to bless them, through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Isaac blessed Jacob "by faith" (Hebrews 11:20), and once spoken in faith the blessing could not be revoked — a reminder that blessings spoken by God over a believer's life are equally settled and equally available.

The catch is that spoken blessings are received by faith and activated by action. Isaac stayed in a famine-stricken land because God told him to, and he reaped a hundredfold harvest in the same year — proof that the blessing of God on a life outweighs whatever the natural circumstances say. A personal testimony from a recent four-day trip to Chicago drives the lesson home. Six years after God called him into ministry at the Trump Tower, Pastor Tim returned to Chicago and was assigned hotel room 818 — a vivid reminder of Deuteronomy 8:18, "you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth." Later in the trip, after settling for a suite that lacked the view he had been hoping for, the Lord spoke: "If you don't like the view, change it." He went to the front desk, asked for a different room, and walked into a room with breathtaking views of the clock tower, Lake Michigan, and downtown — a vivid picture that the blessed life doesn't settle, and that the favor of God enables a believer to ask and receive when they walk in step with Him.

The Application

  • Watch Your Prompts: Examine whose voice is writing the script of your daily life — the Word of God, or the noise of the enemy, the media, and your own anxious thoughts.
  • Receive By Faith: Blessings spoken don't automatically transform you — choose to believe what God has said about you and step into it the way Abraham did.
  • Speak Life: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, so use your words to speak blessing over yourself and others, not curses or complaints.
  • Trust In Famine: When the natural circumstances look like a famine, remember Isaac and stay planted where God placed you — His blessing produces a hundredfold harvest even there.
  • Don't Settle: When the Lord whispers "If you don't like the view, change it," step out in faith and ask Him for more, because His favor goes where you go.
  • Run To The Blesser: Chase after God Himself rather than chasing the blessings, because intimacy with the Father is what unlocks every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
